At 1'913 metres above sea level, Alp Tgom offers stunning views and is an excellent starting point for your ski tour (e.g. up to the "Piz Maler"). In winter you can ride up to the Alp on request (contact Sedrun Disentis Tourism) in the nostalgic cable car, which dates back to 1'957.
A ride on the Tgom cable car is a nostalgic experience. The cable car was built in 1957 and is described in the Swiss inventory of cable ways as "an outstanding example of Swiss cable car technology". The cable car takes you up to a viewpoint offering a fantastic panorama. In summer, the Tgom cable car is operated by Sedrun Mountain Railways and runs every day, but only in fine weather. Summer service is from 6 July to 20 October.
Alp Tgom is the ideal starting point for hikes in Disentis Sedrun. Discover all the most beautiful routes with their flower-filled alpine meadows, babbling mountain streams and stunning viewpoints.
From the station in Sedrun it takes only 10 minutes to reach the cable car station near the Vorderrhein hydroelectric power plant. The valley station of the Tgom cable car is south of the village centre, near the power plant. It can also be reached on the village bus.
